Welcome to Greentown! We are so excited to support the important work you do.
On this page, you will find everything you need to get started with information on our member resources and how to engage with our ecosystem of entrepreneurs, partners, and investors.
GRID Overview
The Greentown Labs Resource and Information Directory (GRID) is our member-only portal to access all things Greentown. Below are some tips and tricks for getting your GRID account up and running and how to use it.
Your Membership Profile:
We like to think of our GRID member directory as our LinkedIn for Greentown, where you can connect with our community of climatetech entrepreneurs and learn more about what other members are working on. Here are some tips to make your profile great:
- Add a profile photo to make yourself easy to find—our community spans states and continents, so representing yourself virtually is essential!
- Add your background and interests—this will allow other members with similar interests to connect with you.
- Add your skills and role at Greentown—this will allow other members to know what you may be able to help them with, and vice versa; we are a community that supports each other!
What you should use GRID for:
- Connect with your fellow members at our Events, or through our Member + Company Directory.
- Book rooms and resources (i.e. machine shop, 3D printers, call rooms)
- Install printers and make IT/facility requests to the Greentown Operations team using our JIRA ticketing system.
- Learn more about and access your Membership Resources: Investor Program, partner connections, software licenses, events + programming, etc.
- Change your membership through our Membership Change/Request Form (on/offboard team members, etc.).
- To request, add, or reduce prototyping lab space and wet lab benches use our Space Request Form .
- Use GRID as an internal communication platform. The Community Board acts as an email thread board—any message also gets sent out as an email. You can receive emails as posts go up, or you can get the Daily Digest. If you want to have a finger on the pulse of our community, we recommend signing up for posts as they come in.

Greentown's Events + Programming
Through your membership, you now have access to more than 300 member-only events each year. The best way to keep up to date on all of our events and opportunities is to read our weekly events newsletter, which is sent out every Monday at 9 a.m. ET. All new Greentown employees are automatically added to the mailing list when they sign up for GRID. If you don’t see the newsletter in your inbox or need to update your email address, please contact Jackie Hedberg.
Here is a sampling of Greentown’s events!
- Monthly Community Town Hall: Meet your community, hear updates from Greentown, and celebrate member wins!
- Community Meetup Groups (CEO, CTO, Hardware, Software, etc.)
- Lunch + Learns (Working with a Board, Growing Your Team, Marketing + Sales, IP, etc.)
- Expert Panels (Investor Speaker Series, Founder Speaker Series, etc.)
- Networking Events (Investor Speed Networking, Community Networking, etc.)
- Office Hours (with investors, corporate partners, service providers, and others)
Each event is designed to equip you with the knowledge, resources, and connections you need to grow a climatetech startup. These member-only events aim to facilitate exchanges of knowledge and to build your industry network. Never miss out on an event by bookmarking the Greentown Labs Events Google Calendar, and check out recordings of many past events on Greentown’s Vimeo.
For the latest updates, visit the Events page on GRID at any time, and if you have an idea for an event you’d like to see, please don’t hesitate to let us know!
Please note that access to our events requires Greentown membership. If there is someone on your team who is not a part of the community yet, please reach out to learn more about getting them involved!
New Member Orientation
We require all new employees joining member companies of Greentown Labs to complete our online New Member Orientation Module by accessing the link in their onboarding email. Our goal is to provide our entire community with a baseline of information covering community and operational guidelines, as well as safety protocols, empowering members to be successful at Greentown.
Who: All new employees!
When: In a new member's first week of membership.
Where: Anywhere with wifi! The online module takes most members 40 minutes to complete and can be started and returned to at any time (it remembers where you left off!)
How do I sign my new employee up for a New Member Orientation?
Use the MEMBERSHIP CHANGE REQUEST FORM to let us know when you have a new employee. The Greentown team will follow up with onboarding items.
Slack
During your onboarding, you will receive an invite to join the Greentown Community Slack! If you have any issues or questions on accessing our Slack, please visit our Slack FAQ page here.
Slack is the quickest way to connect with your fellow community members. We use it for various purposes, including important updates from the Greentown team, notifications on upcoming events throughout the day, information on meetups with other members, and informal community connections.
